The golf landscape continues to be unpredictable in 2025. The Los Angeles Wildfires has rippled into the golf world with big changes being made to the Genesis Invitational, while young stars are taking advantage of their momentum and making history on the PGA Tour.

The PGA Tour announced that the Genesis Invitational, scheduled for February 13 - 16 at Riviera Country Club, will be relocated due to the impact of the Los Angeles wildfires. The venue itself remains undamaged, but will keep the players and spectators out of harms way. The replacement venue will be announced in the coming days.
Seventeen-year-old Blades Brown made history at The American Express by shooting an 8-under 64, the lowest PGA Tour round by a player under 18 in 4 decades. This performance included 10 birdies and surpasses records heald by Justin Thomas & Tony Finau.
LIV Golf has named former Philadelphia 76ers executive, Scott O’Neill the new CEO of the LIV Golf League. He has officially replaced Greg Norman in the position and will now oversee all operations and growth of the league. No word on where Greg Norman will go just yet.
LIV Golf has secured a multiyear broadcast agreement with Fox Sports to broadcast its tournaments for the 2025 season and beyond. This partnership looks to enhance the visibility of the tour and have a broader reach in U.S. audiences. Whether this plays out the way they hope is yet to be seen.
The TGL brought in a whopping 1 million viewers during Match 2 featuring Tiger Woods’ Jupiter Links vs Los Angele’s Golf Club. This is a big increase from 919,000 viewers during match one. Despite the $50 million setup costs, the league seems to be making its investment back and then some!
Rickie Fowler tested a new prototype Cobra mini-driver at the AMEX last week called the Cobra King and nicknamed “The Deuce”. Should this come to market, the Cobra King would be the fifth mini-driver to release from a major brand in recent years.
Phil Mickelson & his LIV Golf team, the HyFlyers, have signed a deal with Primo Golf Apparel as their clothing sponsor for the 2025 season. Formerly popularized by Grant Horvat, they’ll be rocking the joggers and blade collar looks to their tournaments in 2025.

Titleist has teased a new version of their latest SM10 wedges in an “Oil-Can” finish featuring that beautiful bronze-like paint job. These will be released as a limited batch in with presale starting on March 18th. One small issue, this limited release prices the clubs at $250 each. You’ll be paying gold for the bronze!
John Daly took to Instagram to announce that he underwent emergency hand surgery at a hospital in Tampa, Florida. No reason for the operation was given but he confirmed that he is on the road to recovery and will return to golf soon.
Kevin Kisner skull-shanked a bunker shot during the second TGL match of the season against LAGC. Fortunately the ball hit the flagstick and deflected towards the green, but a few inches to the left or right, a fan may have paid the price.
